Detail of the wall construction used in the Swell box - a real oddity! It is made from a sandwich of floorboards & thick brown paper between Masonite sheets, built by the Organist and Choirmaster from 1931-1965, Rae Anderson, whose day job was Chief Pharmacist at the Bendigo Hospital but who was also an amateur organ builder.

Oboe 8'. An original 1883 rank which was extended an octave at each end in 1957 but will now be returned to its 56-note compass. New tuning wires have been fitted throughout, the partial caps have been reset to uniform angles & every part has been cleaned, all to good effect, I'm told - looking forward to hearing it!

Daniel installing the company's own Slic motors to the reinforced ends of the sliders - when a stop is drawn, these are responsible for pulling the slider across the windchest topboard, & this requires some force. These motors offer superior strength & reliability when compared to traditional solenoids.

View from a new opening in the rear of the Swell division of the 1883 Fuller, looking over the Great whilst the shades are off. The restored main chest is now in place (bottom of pic). The resonators of the longest reeds will enter the box at the position of the camera lens as their windchest will be at floor level.
